Cottage, O-Week, and everything in between.

Hey guys!!!!!  So it's been a month (yes, a MONTH) since I have last blogged, but boy do I have a lot to talk about now.

So The Rideau Lakes resort was amazingggg! And the American couple we met there 2 years ago just happened to be up that week as well!  We went walking with Chinook to the Locks, she went swimming, our friend's dog (our friend Suzanne came up for a night) fell in the locks, I nearly fell in trying to save the ball, and I'm pretty sure I flashed everyone watching the chaotic scene as a result.  I also learned how to play this card game called Pay The Man, and let me tell you, it is one intense game, and really hilarious when you get to watch your mom slowly drift away from reality because she is drunk out of her mind.  Speaking of intense games, BINGO is one crazy game when you're playing for money.  I swear the same people kept winning and by the end of it there were a select few that I wanted to get even with lmao.

Oh and the best part was by far when I dropped my cell phone in the lake, while fishing with Suzanne.  At first I was in shock just staring at my phone siking farther and farther into the lake, and when I finally realized what was happening, it was too late.  I definetely learned my lesson though: never put valuable electronics in a flimsy cardigan pocket.

So my mom and I came back on a Friday night (and I drove all the way home!!!) and then it was off to my bf's place for 8 days on that Sunday.  The weather was terrible meeting up with him, but I had such a spectacular time, I can't wait to go back. :)

We somehow did groceries, considering his idea of grocery shopping is standing in an aisle for 3 hours trying to remember what he needed in the first place.  It was funny watching him try to shop, and I couldn't help but think he was cute.  We went for a drive on tuesday night, which was really relaxing and a nice change from being in the house all the time, and on Wednesday night we went to see The Expendables, a movie I didn't think I would enjoy but that was really good.  Action and bits of comedy all rolled together into one.

Thursday was officially his long weekend away from work, so what is an electrician/handyman to do with all his spare time?  Work on his house of course.  He ripped out the old siding around his garage and put in freshly painted cedar wood, which looked amazing at the end.  Then we got pizza and some beer and chilled the rest of the night. :)

The weekend was packed with boats, boats and more boats, and exploring the islands around Lake Simcoe, islands I never knew existed after all these years.  I met so many great people and the memories made were filled with laughs and fun times.

So this post is shaping up to be a novel, but unfortunately I'm not even close to done (well, maybe I am).  So I got back from Lake Simcoe 13 days ago, only to go home and pack, pack, pack for the next 4 days because I moved to Guelph!!!  Now 4 days seems like enough right?? Well wrong actually, when you consider that most of that time was taken up by hanging out with friends one last time and going to last-minute appointments.  Oh the joys of having braces and prescription meds.

Finally the big moving day came, with Fatima to thank for helping me get organized on my last night.  There were tears and laughs and a lot of driving, but now I am finally settling into Guelph.  I must say I'm nervous about all the work I have to do in the coming months, but hopefully things will work out for the best and I will be successful in my future endeavours.  Guelph is a great place to be and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made.

Much love to all my friends back in OTTAWA!!! I love and miss you all and will see you soon. :) <3

What would you attempt if you knew you would not fail?

C: Flying, or transporting
F:: Magic
M: Being a professional singer.

If you could trade places with one person who would it be?

C: Uh........................
F: Anybody who smiles more than me :)
M: Selena Gomez

What is the one thing you can't leave the house without? (not including essentials like wallet, keys, etc)

C: My gold cross necklace
F: My rings.
M: A hair tie and my watch.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

C: um...most people would tell me I'm a perssimist but I think I'm both, it really depends on the situation
F: Optimist when i'm happy and a pessimist when i'm sad. Thank goodness i'm mostly happy.
M: Ugh this is hardddd, um I guess it depends on the situation.  I try to be optimistic because life is just better when you have something to look forward to.

City or country life?

C: City, I love vacationing in the country, but I love the bustle and hustle in the city
F: City because there is always something going on.
M: As of recently, country. :)  But I think I have always had a little country trying to get out over the years.

Sweet, sour or salty?

C: Sour.
F: Salty.
M: Sweet.

Would you rather live in a Twilight world or a Harry Potter world?

C: Potter all the way! I want to take Potions, and Charms and Transfiguration and.....
F: Twilight during the day because then I could see sparkles everywhere. Harry Potter at night because it would be so interesting all the time!
M: Twilight!

If your ipod was dying, what song would you listen to last?

C: Don't own an iPod, so the last song I would listen on my MP3 would be Bohemian Rasphody
F: Laughing With by Regina Spektor.
M: too many.

What is your favorite body part? Least favorite?

C: Fav body part, my eyes or calf muscles; least favourite...my toes?
F: Love my white teeth and I really don't wanna hate on my body but I guess my nails. Only because they grow so slowly ,,.
M: I have grown to love my hips.  I despise my thighs.

Top three things in closet you can't live without...

C: My BCBG leggings/pants, my purple paint splatter flats from Joe's and royal blue long cardigan from Clavin Klein.
F: My worn out, yellow sweater, my faded blue jeans and my red belt.
M: My red and navy blue striped sweater, my floral skirt and my white v-neck t-shirt.

If you could only see black and white except for one color, what color would you choose to see?

C: Oh man! So hard!!!! Blue? I really don't know, being an art student, I can't justify which colour I'd chose :(
F: I would say yellow because then I could paint and see the sun which would make my days a little better.
M: Blue.

And for everyone else:
Do you buy various athletic trophies and have your name engraved onto them so that when people come over you can throw them away in front of them?  Then when they ask what you are doing you can tell them,"oh, I'm just getting rid of some of these damn trophies, I have no room for any more?"

Boredom & Breaking the Bank

Hey everyone!! Sorry CFM has been incognito for the past week, you would think we would be blogging in our nice, air conditioned homes with the 40+ degree weather we have been having.
However, being locked up at home does have it's downsides, and so Fatima and I decided to roam around Ottawa all week.  First was good old College Square on Tuesday night, where I spent a good $140.  I must admit though, I got some good steals, including some jean shorts, a nice top, and 2 skirts.  Next was venturing to Barrhaven last night to get some university ideas.  Fatima ended up buying storage, etc. for the fall, while I got plenty of ideas (couldn't spend any of my non-existant money after the night before).  It was a fun day, despite the disgusting humidity.

Tonight we were going to go to the pool, but I forgot it hadn't been completely renovated yet, so we hopped on a 95 and went to Place D'Orleans for 3 hours, went back towards downtown and went to Rideau, then came home.

I must say it has been a fun week, much better than staying home, despite the weather.  I just have to work on controlling my shopping urges.

'Cause that's how we do.

The road to success is often paved with... kinks?
Well who knew those sometimes annoying kinks could be such a riot?
As you all know, CFM has completely re-vamped the blog; name, template and all.  So the name thing has probably been the most frustrating issue that needed to be tackled.  Last night the three of us sat down to our respective computers and began the brainstorm of a lifetime.

Some of the definite FTW names that we somehow managed to type up with a straight face (for the most part)?

-robombom
-bam it's CFm
-cupcakes
-a pinch of salt
-salt can sting
-SAY WHAT?!
-spice rack
-misses in boredom
-what's cooking?
-flip flops
-bathroom stall conversation
-around the water cooler
-ice breakers
-FLYING HIGH WHILE OVERINDULGING IN COLD MEDICINE
-dirty little secrets
-ripped tights
-orange spaghetti
-blue lemons
-what happens in vegas
-scandalous
-exes and ohs
-unveiled/revealed
-the elephant in the room
-bathroom graffiti
-the hot ones
-the lost boys
-groudies
-rapies
-rufalin
-backstage whispers
-LSD (yes, the drug)
-backstage whispers from the elephant smoking rufalin in the room
-elephant poo
-multifaceted
-different gems
-secrets of a teenage girl
-the teenage diaries
-orange juice
-OJ
-no name
-dish it out!
-paper daydreams
-sugar, spice and everything nice
-Room 201, 211, 289 and finally...
-Room 139 (a little inspiration from that art room in all of our lives)

These are just the names I can remember from memory, so when Charlotte decides to send me the actual convo, I will be sure to update this and hopefully squeeze a few more laughs out of you guys.

Which names would you have liked as a possibility for our blog?  Give us your feedback, we would love to know your opinions! :)

Shoe-a-holic

I have officially been diagnosed as being a shoe-a-holic, by Fatima.
I have this uncanny ability to pick fantastic shoes, fall in love with them, and not being able to buy them.
The black ones below, are by L.A.M.B., by Gwen Stefani. absolutely gorgeous :) with a side of extremely expensive.
Original price: $430
Winner's price: $229
If they're still there at the end of the summer, i'm so getting them.
They are black leather and suede, with a metallic silver heel, a good 5 inches in height.

picture taken in a circular mirror

Fatima taking a picture of my "lovely" elongated legs =P

Side view.
Sadly, I didn't get them, and hopefully they'll still be there at the end of the summer.
This is just like a repeat of that whole scenario downtown in April, with the grey wedges.. except those were a hell of a lot cheaper.

On the bright side of things, I got my BCBG Shoes in the mail today :)
They were in the Final Cut sale on BCBG.com, so I got them for CHEAP!
I love designer sales.
Aren't they gold and wonderful? I'm planning on wearing them for GRAD! Thx Uncle and Aunt :)

Don't ask why one toe has a flower, and the other doesn't... it kinda fell off... and I was too lazy to replace it right away.

The Misadventures of CFM

So today, CFM missioned as in army missioned to Extreme Pita. We went to my house to pick up my scooter right? Normal easy task.... WRONG! The scooter had disappeared and even after calling a parent to find the location, parent did not give any good info; so instead we settled for the deflated bike which was WAY too small. after one round around the neighbourhood to find a air pump, only to find out that brothers all around the neighbourhood were jackasses, we gave up and settled for Petro Can.
after dealing with a twitchy clerk person, we dealed with the air pump box, behind the gas corner store, and we finally went on our to way to College Square.
We all got extremely sweaty and partially death becasue of Melissa's crazy barking dog.

and fatima can finish writing this cuz this is supposed to be her post.
she can't finish it because her "O" is broken.

melissa's messed up scooter which took multiple tries to get it upright

the stupid knob that broke

my scooter, which was all nice and pretty, not to mention easy to fold and put upright :)

extreme pita instructions on opening the pita package...which I totally missed, and failed at opening the package because there's this weird plastic thing on the inside, smart for the part of not leaking pita wrap sauce all over our fabulous outfits, fail, because its impossible to open... for me anyways.

better late than never!

So prom was 9 days ago today, and we thought it would be an appropriate time to post pictures now. I didn't really go into detail a week ago, but prom day/night went a little something like this:

-prom prep actually started on the thursday night, with mary anne spending 4 hours doing mine and kristin's nails... patience of a saint i tell you!
-got up at the crack of 930-ish to go get my hair straightened
-chilled out at home until 345 p.m., at which point my mom did my makeup and i got into my dress
-went to my friend's house for pre-prom pics and all that fun and awkward posing

-drove to andrew haydon park, only to be informed via cell phone (by charlotte) that we were now meeting at the sailing club (still do not know why)
-took about 40000 or more pics, with all my friends looking gorgeous/handsome (people really do clean up when necessary ;P)!

GLEE!!!!! <3

english buddies!!! <3

the three amigos, aka CFM at their best. :)

-by now it was around 6, and after a close call with fatima (she can explain that if she wants), we ended up waiting 40 minutes longer than necessary for our ride, aka OC Transpo bus, because OC Transpo did not plan ahead very well

-so we get to prom 20 minutes late, and somehow disperse our group of 30 to various tables (thanks Tammy)!!!, and then came the food....
-yum yum, the appetizer was Caesar salad, followed by a main course of salmon-stuffed chicken, with mashed potatoes and some veggies, and then the dessert of dark chocolate mousse

-->let me just say the mousse and the salad were the best parts for me. so gooooooddddd......
-then we watched a slideshow of all our years at STP, and danced the night away on the smallest dancefloor known to man
-by 9 p.m. (prom supposedly ended at 1030), 95% of the grade 12's had ditched to go get "ready" for after-prom
-that left our group making absolute fools of ourselves and loving every minute of it, not to mention having our beloved teachers as our witnesses (they did not seem to mind in the least though :D)

fatima was just gettin' her groove on...
yeah don't mind me just singing to myself...

-so we got gipped at 1015, when DJ PAT (!) stopped the music, and we had to go wait in the lobby to go home
-the bus actually came on time, and we all piled on the freshly-cleaned bus, and sang some good old childhood classics (among other things) to pass the time
-after-prom was an impromptu, but very entertaining, night at our friend nathan's, consisting of excess amounts of guitar hero, mario kart, pizza and other surprises

All in all, prom was an unbelievable (in a good way) night, and it felt great to just let loose.  :D

PROM... was... AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, AWESOME, FANTASTIC, and just plain great.

Enough said. :) <3

stay tuned for a bajillion photos, or just go on fb.

P.S. don't know how i am up right now, I am so sleep-deprived and just tired.

so how about that prom.....

well, in case you guys had forgotten, seeing as we have failed to have any updates in last few months... STP PROM IS TONIGHT!!!!
I pretty much have everything ready to go, ride, dress, accessories (can't believe earrings went in my ears after a year or more...), hair, nails, shaving (ughh), etc.

Now I just need to figure out after prom, but I really just want this to a fantastic night filled with great memories and hundreds of pics to remember them by.  There's barely a month left of school and I think it's time that people put their differences aside and get along, and forgive and forget.

I love all of my friends, and hopefully, they feel the same way.

so after tonight, be sure to expect posts galore on the aftermath!!

WUNDAHHHHLANDDD 2010 = Best shit ever.

Okay, so as you may or may not have known, ever since last October or November, CFM has been waiting and waiting for May 6th and 7th to come. Why is that?? Because those two days were when we hopped on a coach bus and headed for t-dot, followed by a day at WONDERLANDDDDD!

So I already mentioned what was on the itinerary, and although I was not looking that forward to the Science Centre, it was amazing!! Fatima and I kinda got separated from the group early on, but we found some really cool exhibits, including a simulated rainforest, a fish sanctuary and what it felt like to be a bird. And then there was the exhibit all about life systems and birth. And I'm talking like life size sturctures of the baby being born, and little vials with the various stages of embryo growth. And then we ran into this crazy scienctist guy who showed us an epic card trick.

Then there was square one mall, where i picked up some clothes, flats, and an awesome fruit-inspired necklace. But I got lost when it was time to meet up with the group to go to playdium, so everyone was royally PO-ed, but it blew over eventually. Playdium was well, fantastic, although DDR was an epic fail. Then there was the hotel, swimming, a botched designer clothes sale, and staying up until 130 just talking and being goofs.

WUNDAHLAND was amazing!!! Especially seeing as I started my day off with Behemoth, and ended it with Flight Deck (formerly known as Top Gun). Didn't feel so hot on the ride home but it was worth getting to satisfy my roller-coaster adrenaline high. And surprise surprise, somehow I managed to gain another tv show out of this trip (GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE), but I'm not complaining.

So it was a fantastic trip, with fantastic friends and a billion pictures to remember it by.

OPEN HOUSE: A success!!!!

So this is the gist of it from my perspective: band performance, pretty good, despite the fact we started really late and I was rushing like mad to get backstage for the dance performance. Got back stage, all the other dances were REALLY short, like ours was like 5 mins as opposed to the other 30 second dances before us.... AND WE TOOK THE HOUSE DOWN!!!! woot woot! here's a video of our performance for those who didn't go see it...*cough* Jeff.

BIEBER..frieber...lieber..hieber..tieber..not even rhyming makes it sound any better...

Who here hates Justin Bieber? HEY!!! I should see everyone nod in agreement ...*glares* at the one person who isn't nodding.

sadly, Bieber is Canadian, ain't that shame to our name (look I can rhyme just like he does =P)

First time I saw him, i thought he was girl! hey, don't judge me, it was on MOD and I was like.. who the heck is that? a girl.. a guy.. a shemale?! and when they said Justin, I thought they had made a mistake and it should of been Justine. But discovered as a youtube sensation? what do you youtubers have against watching other things? why BIEBER??? Why not the guy who blows things up, or sticks things in the microwave, why not just watch ice melt??? that would be sooo much better, even more enjoyable and exciting. Not to mention that your ear drums would stay intact :)

I'm usually all for Canadian born talent like the following:
Ryan Reynolds
Coco Rocha
Alanis Morisette
Rachel McAdams
(a whole list can be viewed at http://www.celebopedia.net/nations/ca.php.)

But Bieber? Do you crazy fan girls like a little squeaky pubescent boy who sings like a chipmunk??
And is he trying to be skater? with those high tops and hair that's always being swung to the side?? Skaters: you should feel offended by this Beiber.

Not to mention his songs....
One less lonely girl? One time? what's with the ones??? it's a one in a million chance that we would be stuck with this little girl of a guy singer/rapper, and we got unlucky. welcome justin beiber to the world of stardom, i hear he's releasing a second CD... my ears are dying! Never gonna let you go? Baby? No one's gonna want to date you bud. Give it up. If you were still a no one you wouldn't have groupies stalking you or stealing your hat in New Zealand. Person who stole the hat in New Zealand: I hope you stole it to burn it, becuase I can't think of any other reason to take it =S.   I really don't... well maybe voodoo...

I'll admit that the songs are catchy, but it's because of the lyrics, his voice just projects it... so *cough* Melissa: who loves the song BABY: go thank the song writer, and stop praising Bieber. same with you Fatima! One less lonely girl? really??? sadly EVERYONE knows all the lyrics to the songs they hate, just like Party in the USA... *sigh* life is so not fair... in the sense that we have to listen to these atrosities!!! but no matter, we'll just have a fun time making fun/mocking/laughing at these songs for they are crap. :) (literally)

Well, I don't think I'll ever be done ranting, EVER! but I had better end this before you fall asleep reading about my love/hate for the one and only rat shemale, JUSTIN BIEBER.

I bid you farwell with this lovely song that was produced in calculus class with the help of my friends:

(based on the BEAVER SONG)

THE BIEBER SONG:

Bieber 1, Bieber all,
Let's go to the torture hall.
Bieber  2, Bieber 3,
Let's shoot up the Bieber tree.
Bieber 4, Bieber 5,
Let's all mock the Bieber jive.
Bieber 6, Bieber 7,
Let's send Bieber to anti-heaven.
Bieber 8, Bieber 9,
STOP
Bieber died!!!!!!
It's Party Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you to all who wrote this lovely lovely song for this post :)
maybe we'll record it and get launched to super stardom =P
*translation: whos is cuter? panda or beiber..I think the panda wins by a looooooooooooooooooooooong shot!

We always manage to pull it off and we are the finale again, thank you very much!!

After tomorrow, there's St. Paul's Open House from 5-7 p.m., and we perform at like 630 or something.  So come out if you want to get out for a bit.  Then i get home, pack and its off to WONDERLANDDDDDD until friday night!!!!! d) staying at Sheraton (swimming and fun shit, woot woot!!)
e) WONDERLANDDDD for 5 or so hours the next day

Pizza guy say what?!

So here is the break down of the worst experience with pizza pizza...

-we call Pizza Pizza and this Mexican lady who knows little English answers
-an hour later she finally understands that I am not in Bangladesh and the ordering is done
-we wait...
-char's cell says one missed call, we call and the line disconnects
-we wait 20 minutes more
-we call the unknown number again. Turns out it's Ali the pizza guy. Ali couldn't get through on Charlotte's phone so he left and went back to the store... WITH OUR PIZZA!
-he then proceeds to tell us this is a private line, do not call again and hangs up.
-we call again asking, very politely what the pizza situation is
-he then says "DIS IS A PRIVUT NUMBAH DON CALL AGAIN F*** YOU!"
-I'm staring at the phone and we call our friend Ali back :)
-I bitch, scream and apologize to him for making his minimum wage job so hard!  I mean he obviously doesn't have legs or arms to walk to the door and see the people waiting for him.  Wait, that doesn't work because then why the f*** is he a delivery person!!!!!!
-he hangs up after calling me a dumb bitch and other colourful words he probably learned after dropping out of the sixth grade!
-we leave a complaint with pizza pizza telling them to shove the pizza up where the sun don't shine :D
-we order from milano's. 20 minutes later it's there and we are eating it.

from 4:40 p.m.-6:10 p.m.

it must be the hair...

So, as I mentioned yesterday, charlotte and fatima took on the courageous role of straightening my hair, and crazily enough that night, a pretty hot guy (at least 25 years old) came in while I was working.  Now I had recognized him as a regular, but he had never struck up a conversation with me before...

This is the jist of what went down...

Him: do u do drugs?

Me: um... no, but i sometimes drink

Him: well u wanna get in my pants?

Me: not particularly

Him: will u let ME into ur pants

Me: no

Him: well... here's my #, in case u change ur mind

Me: WTF? okay...

Coworker: it was the hair

Me: well hot damn

There you have it folks, can I get a drum roll please?
...thank you char and fatima! :)

xoxo, melissa

please note: special thanks to charlotte for finding the divine inspiration for this adapted conversation amidst religion suffocation.

Okay, so in honour of springtime and the beautiful weather we have been having, I decided to make a tribute collage-ish thing of all the hottest guy celebs in my books. :)  What better way to wake up in the morning than by looking at these perfect men?

holy crap, i think i just died inside.
