Boredom & Breaking the Bank

Hey everyone!! Sorry CFM has been incognito for the past week, you would think we would be blogging in our nice, air conditioned homes with the 40+ degree weather we have been having.
However, being locked up at home does have it's downsides, and so Fatima and I decided to roam around Ottawa all week.  First was good old College Square on Tuesday night, where I spent a good $140.  I must admit though, I got some good steals, including some jean shorts, a nice top, and 2 skirts.  Next was venturing to Barrhaven last night to get some university ideas.  Fatima ended up buying storage, etc. for the fall, while I got plenty of ideas (couldn't spend any of my non-existant money after the night before).  It was a fun day, despite the disgusting humidity.

Tonight we were going to go to the pool, but I forgot it hadn't been completely renovated yet, so we hopped on a 95 and went to Place D'Orleans for 3 hours, went back towards downtown and went to Rideau, then came home.

I must say it has been a fun week, much better than staying home, despite the weather.  I just have to work on controlling my shopping urges.

Shoe-a-holic

I have officially been diagnosed as being a shoe-a-holic, by Fatima.
I have this uncanny ability to pick fantastic shoes, fall in love with them, and not being able to buy them.
The black ones below, are by L.A.M.B., by Gwen Stefani. absolutely gorgeous :) with a side of extremely expensive.
Original price: $430
Winner's price: $229
If they're still there at the end of the summer, i'm so getting them.
They are black leather and suede, with a metallic silver heel, a good 5 inches in height.

Side view.
Sadly, I didn't get them, and hopefully they'll still be there at the end of the summer.
This is just like a repeat of that whole scenario downtown in April, with the grey wedges.. except those were a hell of a lot cheaper.

On the bright side of things, I got my BCBG Shoes in the mail today :)
They were in the Final Cut sale on BCBG.com, so I got them for CHEAP!
I love designer sales.
Aren't they gold and wonderful? I'm planning on wearing them for GRAD! Thx Uncle and Aunt :)

Don't ask why one toe has a flower, and the other doesn't... it kinda fell off... and I was too lazy to replace it right away.

WUNDAHHHHLANDDD 2010 = Best shit ever.

Okay, so as you may or may not have known, ever since last October or November, CFM has been waiting and waiting for May 6th and 7th to come. Why is that?? Because those two days were when we hopped on a coach bus and headed for t-dot, followed by a day at WONDERLANDDDDD!

So I already mentioned what was on the itinerary, and although I was not looking that forward to the Science Centre, it was amazing!! Fatima and I kinda got separated from the group early on, but we found some really cool exhibits, including a simulated rainforest, a fish sanctuary and what it felt like to be a bird. And then there was the exhibit all about life systems and birth. And I'm talking like life size sturctures of the baby being born, and little vials with the various stages of embryo growth. And then we ran into this crazy scienctist guy who showed us an epic card trick.

Then there was square one mall, where i picked up some clothes, flats, and an awesome fruit-inspired necklace. But I got lost when it was time to meet up with the group to go to playdium, so everyone was royally PO-ed, but it blew over eventually. Playdium was well, fantastic, although DDR was an epic fail. Then there was the hotel, swimming, a botched designer clothes sale, and staying up until 130 just talking and being goofs.

WUNDAHLAND was amazing!!! Especially seeing as I started my day off with Behemoth, and ended it with Flight Deck (formerly known as Top Gun). Didn't feel so hot on the ride home but it was worth getting to satisfy my roller-coaster adrenaline high. And surprise surprise, somehow I managed to gain another tv show out of this trip (GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE), but I'm not complaining.

So it was a fantastic trip, with fantastic friends and a billion pictures to remember it by.

Spring flowers, spring trends..what else is new?

the latest in the celebrity world thx to lou lou :)

the hottest six trends for this spring, and surprisingly its not florals!

1. LWD: the little white dress, something i'm sure lots of girls will follow in wearing underneath their graduation gowns :)

2. Past the knee: skirts and dresses, personally I don't really like this trend because the cut makes people appear shorter then they are, something I wouldn't really want because I'm already so short. This spring trend may be better for people, say over the age of 27-ish....

3. Sailor Stripes: Loving this trend... I really need to run out and get a comfy looking shirt/sweater/cardigan one soon, they just look amazing on everyone..provided you get the right stripes for your body type
here's a little recap: thinner stripes spread out alot are good, thin stripes close together are bad. thin stripes of 1cm mixed with 2 inches of another colour stripe equal flattering. wider strips are better, go for over 1.5 inches always. if you go any smaller it will create an illusion of added weight, and no girl wants that.

4. Jazz shoes: tap your way into spring with the snazzy jazz shoes. I personally like the traditional ones with the white and black, but the gold ones looks pretty when dressing up an outfit.

5. Bra as a top: never gonna try this, I have some dignity left.

6. Lingerie as outerwear: see comment above for #5.

THE WEEK I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR...

it's finally here.  the week i have been waiting for since i can't even remember (like december).  tomorrow is dance showcase all dayyyy! sadly, i don't feel that we are ready in any form, as there are some parts i'm not even sure of yet.  But my mom managed to straighten my hair just now for it so i'm super excited anyway!! We always manage to pull it off and we are the finale again, thank you very much!!

After tomorrow, there's St. Paul's Open House from 5-7 p.m., and we perform at like 630 or something.  So come out if you want to get out for a bit.  Then i get home, pack and its off to WONDERLANDDDDDD until friday night!!!!! I cannot wait, i still remember when it was 70 days to go, and now its like BAM! right in the face.  and before the best thing, there are many other places we will be visiting while in toronto, including:

a) Ontario Science Centre
b) Square One Shopping Center in Mississauga
c) Playdium
d) staying at Sheraton (swimming and fun shit, woot woot!!)
e) WONDERLANDDDD for 5 or so hours the next day
f) back on the bus to come home........... :'(

So, given that we are only gonna be at wonderland for 5 hours, i have compiled a list of the rides i am definetely going to go on:

a) BEHEMOTH
b) the drop zone
c) the vortex
d) top gun (flight deck)
e) italian job (back lot stunt coaster?)
f) sky rider
g) sledgehammer
h) psyclone
i) great canadian minebuster
j) dragon fire
k) shockwave

so that is what my day will be consisting of this friday, and i am just pissing my pants in excitement.

the many thrills of shopping :)

Okay, so operation m has officially taken shape, in the form of me spending my guts out.  Close to about $230 to be exact.  Let me just say, I never thought I could expand my wardrobe tags outside of Garage and Aeropostale, but Smart Set and Dynamite are some of my newly-acquired friends.  I have rediscovered my love of clothes, and I am really happy with my purchases.  And even happier with my BFFs for pushing this positive change on me. <3

Everything I bought today...

shorts did not want to turn the right way for some reason...

and tomorrow, I am going back for a red blazer, white blouse, and my AFTER PROM DRESS!!! <3
