♫ Here Comes the Bride ♫

Is it just me or are weddings getting more extravagant and expensive each year? It seems that everyone wants to top everybody else. It’s no longer solely focused on the whole aspect of loving your spouse forever, it’s about having the most amazing wedding ever, that everyone will forevermore remember. The memory of your wedding may last longer than your actual marriage.

The trend can be seen quite clearly in the media. You here of stars spending millions on just their wedding rings (got to have the biggest rock in Hollywood). Shows like: Say Yes to the Dress, Rich Bride Poor Bride, and Battle of the Wedding Designers; are feeding a new generation of girls who are already imaging their perfect day which comes with a cost. That cost isn’t even known to these girls! The wedding industry is pushing to gain more money, and its working!

On average, a newlywed couple in Canada, spends $20 000 on their weddings. That’s a lot of money! The cost for just the wedding dress of the bride alone can range from $500 to $10 000 (or more). Not to mention the cost for location, photos, food and drinks, invitations, decorations, transportation, rings, and the list goes on and on and on.....

Better start saving up soon!

And then all you’ll need to worry about, is saying “I do!”.

18 more days till grad, 14 days till my last exam...GAH! I don't think I can survive! :(

and me being on the computer is soooo not hleping! I'm being distracted left and right, and right now all I want to do is to finish my graduation dress :) one shoulder teal silk :) gorgeousness! :)

but noo...stupid exams and CPTs, how I loath thee. This is painful! I can't resist!!! no!!!!! lmao! (me being bored and procrasinating = over dramatic crap)

Well on the otherside of this weekend, I've been at a total of 10.5 hours of staff training, and it was pretty boring, ( but I do get paid! Woot ^^) and now as I explained earlier, am too distracted to finish my hw, and considering that i have a math test tuesday and a religion quiz tomorrow, I should finish my homework. no?

ARGH! when will this torture end?

K, I'm getting off this ocmputer stat, so I can at least finish some worksheets due tomorrow, and then watch Iron Chem America!

finally!

Okay, so I can finally take a breath of relief and relax, because... I GOT MY PROM DRESS!!!!!!!!! I must admit, I was hoping to get a more unique colour, but the lady didn't have any other colours able to be ordered or anything, cause this is the only dress of its kind. So that's about it, I had to get some alterations, so hopefully it will fit really snug (as a bug in a rug). :)

Rideau, Byward and the Dumb Bear

So, today was quite an interesting day to say the least.

Prom dress shopping was successful for some, and not so much for others unless they magically trip over a 5 tonne bag of money.

Exploring downtown ottawa can be one of the greatest things to do especially when the sun is shining and its SOOOOOO WARM :)

i think the next time i do this it'll need to be a video montage, i've always wanted to make one of those :)

so this was basically what happened:

walk to baseline station wait for melissa and fatima
melissa and fatima get off the bus and yell to get my attention making a scene
get on the 95
talk about fatima and melissa's little adventures at FX *winkwinknudgenudge*
get off at rideau
walk down some random street
melissa insults fatima
fatima insults melissa
charlotte needs to break up a fight, again.
find a nice prom dress store
go in, owner is super nice
tells us of a clearance store
go to clearance store
see pretty dresses, that are a billion times too big
walk some more
see random boutiques
more prom dressses
melissa finds a fuschia one
fatima finds a red one
charlotte finds a red one
all not uber expensive
us like =D
imagining ourselves in paris with haute couture
charlotte falls in love with a pair of shoes
charlotte can't afford said shoes on budget
charlotte cries
melissa cries because she wants a pretty dress
fatima calls us all fools and makes the first purchase of the day, a belt.
walk some more
see more boutiques
see crazy stuffed animals and name them
fatima has a fiesta at the back of her pants
charlotte buys a skirt
fatima buys a sweater
melissa is still empty handed
getting hungry
go to La Pointe
Mmmmmmmm food
fatima pisses off the waiter
melissa orders a caesar salad
fatima orders a caesar salad
charlotte orders...
1 lb of mussels, charlotte has now gained a pound =P
walked some more
see outrageous prices
go try on more prom dresses
finally making our way back to rideau
go to le chateau
zara, and charlotte falls in love with another pair of shoes
tan suede boots, but said boot, is MISSING ONE!!!
only a left boot, where the hell is the RIGHT BOOT?????
charlotte is pissed and not having a good day.
melissa, fatima and charlotte go to lasenza... (not gonna finish that sentence)
finally making our way to our last stop, BCBG Max Azria
all find pretty dresses
fatima dress: 325 approx.
melissa : 500 approx
charlotte: lets just say 3 times 7, gives you 777....
