Do you guys remember the good old days when it was actually worth getting out of bed on a saturday morning to go watch tv? Being all cozy in your pajamas and snug on the couch, nothing could tear you away from:
- Arthur
- Sesame Street
- Mr. Dress-up
- Carebears
- Polka Dot Door
- BARNEY!!!
- Braceface
- Art Attack
- Rugrats
- Looney Toons
- Dexter's Lab
- Johnny Bravo
- Doug
- Rupert
- The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin
- Pinky & The Brain
- Animaniacs
- Ren & Stimpy
- Sailor Moon
- Powerpuff Girls
the list could go on forever....
These shows were not just entertainment for a few hours during the week, they were the defining moments of our childhood that it made it worth tuning in to see the next problem Arthur would have to tackle or what Mr. Dress-Up would draw next.
I like to call it "light entertainment" (well, my mom likes to call it that); we didn't have to deal with drama or someone being killed, but just follow the simple, often amusing storylines presented before us.
So enjoy some pictures to see if they jog your memory, and are there any cartoons that were especially important to you or were exciting to watch every week? Let us know; drop a comment. :)
