hahahaha, so it may not seem like a big deal, but I got to vote in the Ottawa-West Nepean by-election tonight. I am still not used to being an adult, but I guess I have no choice.

Nothing New
So if you didn't already know, parliament resumed its duties as of today. for the past like, 5 months, everyone has been "taking a break/hiatus/whatever" from running our country, because apparently it's not that important of a priority. Among the topics of the Throne Speech were: members of parliament and senators will see pay decreases (thank god), and no new jobs are expected to be created. Other party leaders heavily criticized Harper for not addressing climate change action, making new jobs, and that whole business of HST??
Basically the same old recycled junk (no joke, Australia reportedly had the same platform... 6 YEARS AGO) was used to convince Canada that everything is headed on the right track.
Well done Harper, I knew I voted for you for a reason. Oh wait, I didn't, because I couldn't, and I wouldn't have wanted to anyway.

Don't Do It!!
According to Microsoft, if Windows XP users are browsing the web and suddenly get a notice to press the F1 key (traditionally known as the help button), they SHOULD NOT DO IT. Apparenly pressing it can cause malware to infect XP and internet explorer browsers, as Visual Basic and Windows Help are intergrated with Internet Explorer. So when one of those pop-ups appears and you dismiss it as just being annoying, think again. By pressing F1, hackers can upload dialog boxes and codes from their source, basically allowing them to put whatever viruses, malware or spyware they want on your computer.
The good news is, users cannot actually infect their computer unless they actually PRESS the button. So no matter how tempting it is to press F1 to get rid of all the bombarding pop-ups, it's not worth having a stupid virus to deal with.
SO DO NOT ASK FOR HELP!

this happened a while ago, but since i'm just as bored as i was then:
I was at the dentist getting my teeth cleaned and all that, so I was bored and started to count the ceiling tiles, when MATH made it easy and I was done in 5 seconds. What was I supposed to do after?? Math ruined the purpose of counting ceiling tiles. fml.

Uninvited
So MAJOR CONFUSION should be the proper title of this book, and no, it is not the same as the movie.
So there's a girl Mimi, who's dad is an artist, who has cheated on multiple women.
Jay is a guy who lives in a house in the middle of nowhere in Ontario.
Mimi's dad, Marc, says she can go stay in a house in the middle of nowhere in Ontario.
Mimi is being stalked by an unstable guy named Lazar, who is a professor at NYU where Mimi studies.
Mimi meets Jay, they will soon be living with each other, and they have "entertained" thoughts of each other.
The house at which they stay in being creeped by some dude.
This dude leaves: dead birds, snake skin, and records his breathing in Jay's sound studio. Oh, and he shoots a video of Mimi changing with her video camera and leaves it for her to see.
Mimi and Jay turn out to be siblings... whoooboy.
Lazar ends up in Halifax.
Jay is dating Iris, who the creepy dude thinks Jay is cheating on with Mimi.
Mr. Peters is an old man living down the street who is creeping as well.
Mr. Peters is perverted and would like sexual favours from Mimi.
Yet the creepy dude's mother is NUTS and creepy dude is: Cramer.
Cramer is in love with Mimi, and they both have "entertained" thoughts of each other as well.
Mother shoots her son, while aiming at Mimi, shoots at Jay, kills herself.
Cramer is Jay and Mimi's brother.
Messed up shit!!!!!

HOTTIE ALERT!
Okay, so for all of your girls out there... you better know who I am talking about already.
You have all heard of a little show called The Vampire Diaries??? Well this is no Edward Cullen or the like, he is MUCH hotter and badass.
Yes, I am talking about Ian Somerhalder, otherwise known as Damon Salvatore on the show. So he is kind of 31 (but who cares, I go for older men anyways), but honestly you wouldn't know it. He was born in Covington, Louisiana and started his career by modelling around 10 years old, to the encouragement of his mother (thanks mom!).
Here are some facts you probably didn't know about him:
1. He was brought up on a really strict menu growing up, and as a result, any fast food makes him physically sick.
2. He has a passion for saving stray animals (my kind of guy).
3. He has been modelling for about 20 years now, including doing campaigns for Calvin Klein, Guess, American Eagle Outfitters, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Versace.
4. His major breakout role was as Boone Carlyle in the hit television drama Lost. Unfortunately he was killed off in the first season but still made guest appearances. He was also turned down for the part of Jason Stackhouse on True Blood. But hey, thank god he was or else he wouldn't be Damon! <3
5. Now this is really unfortunate. He recently started dating none other than Ashley Greene (yeah, you know, Alice from the Twilight Saga?)
but hey, I could stare at this vampire all day. honestly, how can someone be so unbelievably attractive?
who can resist those piercing eyes?

Sadly, I don't think the pilots saw this sign.
Houston, we may have a problem...
Incoming...
Learn to fly... Ya right, it's more like learn to crash.
Well, I guess we know how the sign got damaged.
Toooo low
Way too low!
Way to take out a cop car!
Who needs to take a dump?

Fresh Start
Hey everyone. So it's the first day of March, a brand new month. The olympics are over, it seemed like just yesterday everyone was watching the opening ceremonies, and what a way to end it. This blog is almost a month old now too, and we really appreciate you guys taking the time to read what we have to say (and feel free to leave comments through the facebook event)! Anyway, in honour of a new month, I just wanted to give a few tips to help brighten up your lives, inspired by my own day-to-day life.
1. Try going to bed even 10 minutes earlier than you usually do if you tend to stay up late (you know you will be a cranky pants in the morning even more so).
2. Instead of a depressing and annoying beeping sound for your alarm, use your iPod (if you can use it with your clock) or set your alarm to your favourite radio station.
3. EAT BREAKFAST! Even if you are not hungry (which has been me lately), it is not hard to have a bowl of cereal with a banana and some yogurt, and don't forget the orange juice!
4. Take water or juice to classes with you to keep you awake and hydrated. And hey, it doesn't hurt to actually pay attention in class (I should take my own advice).
5. When you are sitting in front of the box for hours on end, or even on your laptop, try getting up for 5 minutes and stretching, or doing jumping jacks to get your heart going.
6. Don't go on the computer for like 6 hours straight anyway!! Take breaks and I don't know, do your homework or eat dinner WITH your family??
7. If you have trouble sleeping at night, try listening to your iPod with your eyes closed or reading a good book to make your eyes get heavy (works for me all the time).
8. Try to make a point to walk as much as possible instead of getting a drive (this may be easier in the summer months).
9. RECYCLE your bottles, pop cans, etc. And if your city has a composting program, actually participate in it!
10. If you are stressed out, invest in a stress ball, or just set aside time to have fun with your friends!!
