anywho, i was surfing good old yahoo, and found this:
Yesterday in a cave in Siberia, DNA from the bone of an unknown woman's pinky finger was extracted for testing. At first it seemed that she was just a regular human, but no, scientists seem to think she was a cross between us and Neanderthals. Referred to as "Woman X" this pre-human species could have lived as recently as 30000 years ago, to as long ago as a million years ago, when a line of humans known as hominins diverged to give humans and Neanderthals. One Svaante Paabo, a DNA analyzer, referred to the genetic material as "some new creature that has not been on our radar screen so far."
As for right now, Paabo, Johannes Krausse and colleages are painstakingly working to find out more about the female creature and in what exact time period she may have lived.
