According to Microsoft, if Windows XP users are browsing the web and suddenly get a notice to press the F1 key (traditionally known as the help button), they SHOULD NOT DO IT. Apparenly pressing it can cause malware to infect XP and internet explorer browsers, as Visual Basic and Windows Help are intergrated with Internet Explorer. So when one of those pop-ups appears and you dismiss it as just being annoying, think again. By pressing F1, hackers can upload dialog boxes and codes from their source, basically allowing them to put whatever viruses, malware or spyware they want on your computer.
The good news is, users cannot actually infect their computer unless they actually PRESS the button. So no matter how tempting it is to press F1 to get rid of all the bombarding pop-ups, it's not worth having a stupid virus to deal with.
SO DO NOT ASK FOR HELP!
