what's the deal with being famous?

Well, you know this had to be brought up at some point. The fact that Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are practically famous for being famous.  You can't deny reading cover stories about them just out of pure curiosity.  Another thing: most of these (except for the two oldest Jo Bros) stars are born in the good old year of 1992.  The year that ALL 3 OF US were born in.  So what is so spectacular about these mega stars, I mean, was it just pure luck that they became the biggest things since sliced bread?  Well let's see: they are all supposed "triple threats", that being due to their actual talents, or the fact that Disney just wants to milk these teenagers for all they are worth.  And a scary coincidence: when Miley Cyrus' dad, Billy Ray Cyrus (you know, the underappreciated, in the shadows father who's career comes in second to his millionaire daughter's) was filming his show Doc in Toronto, Ontario, of course, the fam had to be near the set.  Well what do you know, I was also living in Toronto at that time (late 90's/early 2000's) and in the same neighbourhood! That's right, for those of you who have heard of the Beaches, that was where Hollywood's most beloved tween starlet was shacking up when she still had her baby teeth.

As for Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, who would have thought two close-knit BFFs would have grown up to be entrepreneurs before they were legal?  I guess Barney really worked wonders for them.  But in all seriousness, I really respect these two girls, I believe they really can sing for once, and are not just knock-off Disney stars who were bored and could find nothing better to do.  And hey, maybe we could share our own BFF secrets one day. LOL

The point I am trying to make is that it is a VERY small world when you stop and look around.  These kids were and are no different from you and me, and it just amazing to wonder what if I had been where they were when they were discovered, why didn't I have the guts to show off my talent to the world?  We can never know how things would have turned out for sure, but for now, these are the people we look up to.

aren't they cute?
xo, Melissa
